METRASTOP – BALLOON CATHETER FOR POST-PARTUM UTERINE HAEMORRHAGE

For the management of temporary reduction in post-partum uterine bleeding

The catheter consists of two balloons:

    An outer balloon (1) to be inflated with a sterile solution (maximum inflation 60 ml) via the blue tube (3); an inner balloon (2) to be inflated with air via the transparent ‘air inflation’ tube (recommended inflation: 360 cc of air, corresponding to 6 of the 60 ml syringes supplied; maximum inflation: 420 cc

The special inflation valve (4) on the transparent tube allows for continuous air pumping
The red drainage tube (5) must be connected to the collection bag (6) supplied
The arrangement of the balloons makes the device very lightweight, thereby preventing the balloon from slipping
The inflation and deflation procedure is very quick
The kit consists of the catheter, the 60 ml syringe and a fluid collection bag
