Device for the prevention and treatment of vaginal haemorrhages in gynaecology and obstetrics

    Vagistop in Gynaecology: treatment and prevention of vaginal haemorrhages and haematomas following vaginal surgery or trauma. It replaces vaginal packing with gauze strips. Inflated with air. The recommended inflation volume for gynaecological use is 60 to 180 ml, depending on the size of the vagina

Vagistop in Obstetrics: used in the treatment of vaginal haemorrhage following a postpartum tear or to prevent vaginal haematomas. It replaces the use of vaginal tamponade with gauze strips. Inflated with air. The recommended inflation volume in obstetrics is 240 to 480 ml, depending on the size of the vagina. 

When inflated and in contact with the vaginal walls, it maintains an internal pressure of approximately 50 mmHg, which is higher than pelvic capillary pressure, which ranges from 21 to 48 mmHg. The balloon has been tested up to a maximum air inflation volume of 500 ml
